Drainage

As I am writing this there seems to be a chance of more snow in our immediate future. I just do not know if we will ever get a break to really get things done. From the snow, freezing, and saturated ground makes for a difficult challenge to complete our winter goals. But never the less we push on. That being said we are in the middle of a few key drainage areas on #16 right side of the path. As you see in the pictures our biggest project is the never ending wet spot that has formed through out the season. It will be a great relief to fix this area that has been on my mind for some time.  It is exciting when we complete the projects knowing that it will improve the overall look that we want to achieve.  As always if you have any comments or suggestions please feel free to email at phil.desbrow@lakewoodcc.org.

Winter Projects

Well this is the first post of many, it has been an interesting winter with the snow accumulation that we have received.  But in between these times of snow melt we have been top dressing fairways and improving the walk bridge on number 7. You may ask yourself, What is the crew able to do when there is snow on the ground? First we collect everything on the golf course such as benches, tee markers flags etc.. We sand all benches and tee markers down and prepare them for paint or stain. this insures that at the beginning of the year everything is in good shape. Also this gives us time to make the necessary repairs to the maintenance building. We have completed the drainage install on the #1 Fwy and will continue through out the course in the needed areas.  Stay Tuned for more updates!
